Here's my childhood home, the place where I grew up in Greenwood, Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis. I lived here from age one through eighteen, and also several summers after I went off to college. My parents sold the house sometime in the early 1990s, I think.

That's our cat Midnight in the front yard.

The large stone in front of the lamp post is engraved with our family surname, and people sometimes asked if it was a grave marker. In actual fact, the stone was placed in the trunk of parents' car as a "wedding present." They left it with my grandfather when they took off on their honeymoon, and he was the one who had it engraved.
