The picture shows the difference in size and carving style. The modern tiles shown here are 1 3/8" tall, 1" wide and 3/4" thick. The old tiles are 1/32nd shy of 1" tall, 1/32nd shy of 3/4" wide and half inch thick. Notice that the white dragon has no carving on the old style tiles while the modern tiles used an empty blue frame to represent "white".
