.Mac（英文讀做Dot Mac）係蘋果公司一組網上服務，主要畀蘋果系統十（Mac OS X），不過都有少少功能畀其他平臺用。原本淨係唔使錢咁畀蘋果系統用戶，家下係逐年收錢。雖則個名叫.Mac，佢唔係頂層網名。

.Mac係基於iTools整出來，以前係免費互聯網架生，畀Mac用戶用。.Mac係成套互聯網服務兼軟件，響2002年7月17號紐約Macworld Expo開用[1]，用戶可以用到下面嘅架生：

iDisk係用WebDAV技術而mac.com用IMAP，呢啲服務個個平臺都用到，不過就要用蘋果機開戶。

2002年9月17號，蘋果公司宣佈，有成十萬個用戶用。[2]

2002年9月30號，iTool唔再續，轉過去年年要畀錢嘅.Mac。一啲蘋果機用家覺得太貴抗議。[3]不過支持嘅就話可以改良服務同有其他免費件用。2005年6月15號為止，佢就包埋McAfee Virex 病毒掃描器 (只係畀用戶)，雖則有人質疑機乎無病毒嘅蘋果機有乜用。

2006年10月，蘋果更換個新嘅.Mac郵件(.Mac Mail)，等佢似用緊系統十個蘋果郵件。新功能係用AJAX，可以拖放(drag-and-drop)，隨時更新一窗三邊畫面，重可較大細。[4]

2007年8月，公司總裁宣佈加料：

  • 新網上畫廊，似Flickr同YouTube二合一
  • 有基本10 Gigabytes儲存。其他更新到20G同30G
  • 100/200/300 GB轉移唔使錢

.Mac係逐年收錢嘅，一年99.95美金。2002年9月30號，iTool免費試行期一過，原本iTools用戶都搬晒去.Mac。每個用戶都有個mac.com電郵地址同10GB空間(2007年8月7號為止)。想大份啲iDisk可以畀多啲錢，去到30GB。只要合乎協議，點用都得，mac.com都係用iDisk位。響蘋果係統之下，iDisk同其他碟用法無分別。

推介畀人用可以減年費，每多一個用戶就下年打八折，如果新機加新用戶就打七折。

2007年8月7號，.Mac自動加到去10GB儲存，唔使額外畀錢。

好多投訴都係話佢貴，唔值咁多錢。好似唔使錢嘅Gmail，位都多過佢。有啲就覺得用得到嘅地方太少。有人叫佢減價[5]，但蘋果都好少理。

有人出萬銀美金求個公開原碼嘅代替品。[6]

.Mac同蘋果系統夾得好埋，.Mac係好多軟件嘅擴充，尤其係iLife。最明顯有：

  • iDisks可以同其他碟一樣咁掛上系統。兼且，可以將公開畀其他人掛上去。呢個係.Mac初期收免費軟件嘅方法。未掛iDisk都可排隊等下次掛嗰陣自動放iDisk。
  • 地址薄 entries, iCal dates, Safari bookmarks and, as of Mac OS X 10.4, keychains, mail accounts, mail rules, mail signatures, and smart mailboxes can be synched with the iDisk through iSync (prior to 10.4) or .Mac syncing (in 10.4), allowing easy synchronization between multiple computers.
  • iWeb allows users to create web pages that can be uploaded to iDisk and published.
  • Similarly, the iMovie, iPhoto, GarageBand, and iTunes libraries can easily be uploaded to iDisk (subject to various licensing agreements).
  • Backup can be used to make backups to iDisk or local media.

.Mac 嘅連絡用行業標準嘅SSL碼來保密。When using a mail program, such as Apple Mail, your .Mac mail is automatically encrypted. In addition, iChat users using a .Mac account can encrypt their chats with other iChat .Mac users.
