詞曲作家（英文：Songwriter）係指同時創作一隻歌嘅詞曲嘅人。製作流行歌嘅工作通常會分攤畀好多人。流行文化歌可以係由音樂出版社直接請專屬嘅詞曲作家寫作。

有啲詞曲作家自己做埋音樂出版社嘅角色，另一啲就同音樂出版社合作。依家嘅詞曲作家唔再需要唱片公司嘅支援，隨住科技進步，任何人都可以喺屋企錄歌。
