庫爾德人（庫爾德文：کورد/Kurd^[9]）係一個生活響中東地區嘅遊牧民族，總人口大約3000萬，主要分佈響土耳其、敘利亞、伊拉克同伊朗嘅交界地帶庫爾德斯坦，響中東係人口僅次於阿拉伯、突厥同波斯民族嘅第四大民族，同時係古老民族，相傳係舊時米底亞人後代。

On the other hand, Nizami's mother was of Kurdish origin, and this might point to Ganja where the Kurdish dynasty of Shaddad ruled down to AH. 468; even now Kurds are found to the south of Ganja.
