The Queen has been pleased to appoint Major William Caine to be Colonial Secretary and Auditor General of Accounts for the Island of Hong Kong; C. St. George Cleverly, Esq. to be Surveyor General; and William T. Mercer, Esq. to be Chief Magistrate of Police for that island; and James Watson Sheriff, Esq. to be Her Majesty's Solicitor General for the island of Antigua.
